Judge Bianco has instructed on judicial ethics throughout California for over two decades as both an attorney and judge, including as CJER faculty and for his court’s in-house orientation for new bench officers. He has served as faculty for Primary Assignment Orientation, New Judges Orientation, and at numerous programs for CJA.
Judge Bianco serves on the Judicial Council’s Family & Juvenile Law Advisory Committee, and was an original member of the Council’s Judicial Branch Contracting Manual working group. Judge Bianco’s involvement with CJA includes serving on the Executive Board and as its former Secretary/Treasurer. He serves on the legislative committee of the Juvenile Court Judges of California, is a member of the LGBT Judicial Officers of California, and is a contributor and former co-editor of CJA’s The Bench magazine.
Prior to his judicial appointment, Judge Bianco served as Court Counsel for the Los Angeles Superior Court for 16 years. He began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office for 7 years, and then worked as a Senior Associate for a municipal law firm prior to joining the court.
